The James M. Bennett football team has found its next head coach.
Following the retirement of Glenn “Hoot” Gibson, who led the Clippers for 19 years, offensive coordinator Dustin Mills was hired to head the program.
“I have unending gratitude to all that have helped me achieve this dream, and thank you to the JMB administration for trusting me with this program,” Mills said in a statement. “We are going to do great things!”

Mills is the third Bennett football coach in the last 41 years, succeeding Gibson and longtime head coach John Usilton.
Mills has served as the school’s offensive coordinator for four years, most recently helping the Clippers to three consecutive playoff appearances. In 2018, he was pivotal in Bennett’s first postseason victory in nearly three decades.
