Maryland Student Legislature Marks 35th Anniversary, Inspiring Tomorrow’s Leaders

ANNAPOLIS, April 13th, 2024 – The Maryland Student Legislature (MSL) proudly celebrated its 35th year of shaping the leaders of tomorrow at the historic Maryland State House. The occasion launched the 35th Annual Session, drawing 102 students from 10 colleges and universities across the state.

The event gathered student leaders from Anne Arundel Community College, Hood College, Howard Community College, Johns Hopkins University, McDaniel College, Montgomery College, Morgan State University, Mount St. Mary’s University, the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and the University of Maryland, College Park.

The gathering demonstrated the commitment of MSL to empower and educate Maryland’s youth, fostering civic engagement, leadership skills, and a deeper understanding of state government. With representation from a diverse array of institutions, the event underscored the statewide impact of MSL’s mission.

“We are immensely proud of the achievements of our members and the lasting impact of the Maryland Student Legislature,” said MSL Governor Rustam Biswas, a sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park. “This milestone not only celebrates our past successes but also ignites our collective resolve to continue nurturing the next generation of Maryland leaders.”
